Jacqueline A. Horvat has a broad and varied corporate/commercial litigation practice and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial disputes involving oppression remedies, share purchase agreements, dissent and appraisal rights, commercial real estate transactions (Beach vs TREB), intellectual property rights and private and public corporate restructuring.

She also has extensive experience in class actions involving allegations of product liability, price-fixing, civil and criminal conspiracy, fraud, interference with economic relations, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duties, negligence and breach of commercial agreements.

Jacqueline was elected as a Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the governing body of Ontario’s lawyers, for the 2011-2015 term.

She was also appointed as a director of Library Co Inc., a non-profit corporation created to manage the Ontario County and District Law Library system.

Jacqueline spent several years representing the former Attorney General of Ontario before The Ipperwash Inquiry, a commission of inquiry established to inquire and report on the events surrounding the death of Dudley George, who was shot and killed during a protest by First Nations representatives at Ipperwash Provincial Park.
